Addiction, heartbreak, grieving, or any suffering in life, people can overcome if they are courageous enough to go through the pain.
But how could we? We are entitled to happiness, so how could we accept downtime?
No, we cannot, and there starts all the great suffering of sufferings.
We cannot quit alcohol because we don't like how we feel when our throat craves it.
We cannot move on because we don't like the knots in our stomachs.
And it's not because those are bad, but it's because we never chose to go through pain.
Our parents, friends, and society show us a mirror that tells us that in our lives, there's only space for good times, not for bad ones.
Even if some highlight the importance of pain, they will also tell you that it takes time to heal.
Heal.
We are again not accepting the pain here; we just want to get out of it.
So, we cling to this rope of hope that this shall pass, too.
Nobody actually tells us that if we let the pain be there and experience it, we can learn a lot about it and ourselves as well.
We become so strong that no suffering can ever shake us.
Yet, we don't.
We resist it.
We therapy it.
We give time to it.
But we never try to understand it because if we do, it will change us.
Deep down, we want to change, but longing for that person feels good in heartbreak, so why change?
Addiction makes you forget the world, so why change?
I will meet that person in heaven, so why change?
We choose good emotions always, but true happiness is always hidden in the bad ones, only if we are courageous enough to go through pain.
